Now, we will change the labeling of our cysteamine-containing products in accordance with the usage precautions in the Japan Permanent Wave Liquid Industry Association’s “Voluntary Standards for Rinse-off Hair Set Products,” which were revised on July 12, 2024. . Cysteamine hydrochloride has now become an active ingredient in pharmaceuticals, and it is no longer possible to incorporate it into cosmetics according to cosmetic standards. However, as a result of discussions with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare authorities at the Japan Permanent Wave Liquid Industry Association, we have decided that “hair setting agents that are used only on the scalp and are washed away” can continue to be used, so you can continue to use our products as before.
Regarding changes to the display items, the following have been added: [Precautions for eyes], [Precautions for wearing gloves], and [Patch test]. In particular, [patch testing] has been added with greater safety in mind than ever before. These measures are designed to prioritize product safety and user health, and we will continue to strive to improve product safety.
In light of the above, in addition to the precautions currently displayed on the products, we ask that you please use the following newly added precautions when using our products. We also ask that salons that use the affected products be made aware of this information.
Record
1) Avoid getting this product or rinse liquid in your eyes. If it comes into contact with your eyes, immediately rinse thoroughly with water or lukewarm water and consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
2) Be careful not to get this product on your face or neck, and protect it with a towel, protective cream, etc. If this product comes into contact with your skin, immediately wash it off with water or lukewarm water and wipe it off with a wet towel, etc., by patting it gently without rubbing it.
3) To protect your hands and fingers, wear gloves and avoid direct contact with this product. If this product gets on your hands, immediately wash it thoroughly.
4) Please do not use it if you:
・Persons who have ever had a rash not only from this product but also from products containing cysteamine or its salts.
・Those who feel abnormality on their skin as a result of skin allergy test (patch test)
Precautions before use
Please be sure to perform a skin allergy test (patch test) 2 days (48 hours) before use, following the steps below. Observation of the test area will be carried out twice, approximately 30 minutes and 48 hours after application of this product.
(a) Apply a thin layer of this product to the inside of your arm, about the size of a 10 yen coin, and let it dry naturally.
(b) Leave it untouched for 48 hours. Do not cover the area where this product has been applied with a bandage, etc.
(c) If there is a skin abnormality such as rash, redness, itching, blisters, irritation, etc. on the applied area, wash it off immediately without rubbing it with your hands, etc., and do not use it. If you experience similar skin abnormalities during the test, even within 48 hours, immediately stop the test, wash the product off, and do not use it again.
(d) If there is no abnormality after 48 hours, please use it.
